Ratebee

How Ratebee works

Honest ratings you can trust — because they’re hard to fake. Here’s the system, in plain terms.

✅ How we keep reviews honest

Reviews come from real users describing their own first-hand experience — fake or paid reviews are not allowed. A review's weight grows only from likes it receives from other people, so influence can't be bought. Beecoins reward taking part — rating, commenting, showing up — and are never tied to whether a review is positive or negative, so there's no incentive to inflate scores. We moderate content, and a business can claim its profile to respond to or flag a review.

Two things you earn

Ratebee has two separate currencies, on purpose — so rewards and gamification can never bend the trust signal.

🛡️ Trust (reputation)
Earned only from likes your reviews and comments receive — plus account age and consistent quality. It raises the weight of your ratings in a company’s score. It cannot be bought, farmed, or boosted by activity. Others finding you genuinely helpful is the only way up.
Beecoins
Earned from contributing — ratings and comments, plus your daily streak and the likes you receive. Every contribution counts: a comment is worth more than a bare rating, a rating with a comment more still, and being first to a place is the biggest single boost (so the peak is a first rating with a comment). The more useful — i.e. liked — your contributions, the more they earn. Beecoins are your rewards currency: they unlock levels, perks and (coming) discounts at the places you review. Kept deliberately separate from Trust, so rewards can never change the weight of your ratings.

🔥 Daily streak

Open Ratebee (site or extension) each day and your streak grows, earning more Beecoins the longer it runs. Miss a day and the streak counter resets to zero — but you keep every Beecoin and all your reputation; only the flame resets. A saved freeze can absorb a single missed day. The daily bonus tops out at 10 Beecoins.

Be the first

Being first to review a place earns a Beecoin bonus — go find the un-rated ones! It comes in two parts: a small amount right away, and the larger half vests once others also rate the place (so a drive-by guess nobody corroborates doesn’t pay the full bonus — being first to something real does). The bonus is also bigger the more trusted you are. New reward-eligible contributions are capped at 10 per day to keep it honest.

👍 Likes are the point

A review that earns likes is worth far more than ten that don’t — likes drive both your Trust and your Beecoins. Write the review you’d want to read.

🏅 Levels

Your level is set by the likes your reviews and comments receive — the Trust signal, never raw activity. Each level up multiplies the Beecoins your contributions earn, so being genuinely helpful pays off more.

🚫 What we don’t allow

No fake reviews, no spam, no buying ratings — these are illegal in the EU/US and they destroy the only thing that makes a review platform worth anything. Every comment is checked on submit; suspicious ones are held for a human moderator before they appear. You can mark a comment “not helpful” — that quietly flags it for review and never damages the author’s reputation.

Why this matters

When everyone’s stars look the same, the score you can’t fake is the one people believe. That’s what we’re building: trust that’s expensive to game and easy to rely on.
